A Day Trip to Pulau Kapas

During last Hari Raya Haji,
We had a quick day trip to Pulau Kapas.
Pulau Kapas is an island located at Marang province in Terengganu.
(Pulau = Island, Kapas = Cotton)

After breakfast at home, at 9.30 am we drove from our house to Marang Jetty which takes around 25 minutes drive.
So, today plan is:
  1. Bukit Singa hiking.
  2. Mandi Pantai
  3. Sunbathing (tan kan lagi kulit yang dah sedia tan
  4. Take lots of photo.
We went during public holiday, so ramai sikit lah orang. Despite that, we still manage to get our car parked at the parking area.
There are charges for the parking. Around RM 4 per day if I remember correctly. Beware of people that will simply ask you for parking fee without giving you any receipt proof.

We get off, went to the counter to get our boat transfer tickets.

Tips 1. If you are going during peak season/ public holiday, ask the people in charge when is their next boat coming. You can save some time by catching the next boat coming!
There are few companies at the jetty that provided this, some hotel package come together with boat transfer package.
Have a quick survey about the price and get on the next boat coming. Don't forget to bargain!
We manage to get the next boat right after buying the boat transfer ticket at RM35 round trip each pax during public holiday.  You may get around RM 20-25 per pax roundtrip if you come during weekdays.

We got to the boat straight away after purchasing the tickets, get off in front of Mak Cik Gemok chalet and make our way to the Bukit Singa as we planned.
The best part about Pulau Kapas that I've discovered is the long stretched beach that you can choose and enjoy if you willing to hike a bit here and there.

Looks quiet right? I told you, an extra effort will give you an Instagram worth photo.

Tips 2. Find a beach that is a bit far from the chalet area and you can have a whole beach for your own. The are many sides of beach, you can get there if you are willing to climb over the the big rock that separate the beaches from one to another. You can take photos as if you are in the private island!

After trekking and climbing and walking through the beach, we have come to the end of the road, where Bukit Singa is.
The track is a bit steep, be careful okay. The hike from the bottom to the top is only 5 minutes if you are fit enough. Haha.
Total time estimated from the point we get off from the boat to up here maybe only around 40 minutes?
Up here. So BEAUTIFUL.

Tips 3: If you are staying overnight and planning to hike up here, do it after fajr, Takde lah panas lit-lit.

Finished with our selfie and photography session, we had a quick lunch with some bread and drink that we tapau on our way here while still be mesmerizing with the view and layan perasaan sendiri.

Tips 4: Bring your own lunch box/ bread/ drinks/ snacks from mainland as everything will be extra pricey in the island!

We went down and find a spot for us to lepak and mandi!
Looking up to the blue sky and the clear blue shades of the sea, the peace will slowly be absorbed into your raging heart. hah, kemain!
You can also snorkeling, kayaking and do all the water activities here as well. They provide you packages that you can easily search online or you can find the their ad everywhere starts from the jetty.
We are not so into these activities, thus we just skip that part and enjoy the sea breeze under the shades.

We make our way back to the place where the jetty drop us off and wait for the boat.
Lucky enough, the boat is already there dropping off other passenger. Got into the boat and back to the mainland!

Bye Kapas, we'll surely meet again! <3
